Hybrid and electric vehicles are creating a host
of challenges, including the demand for a new
generation of high performance, high power
connectors and charging solutions. Many
additional power electronics devices are added
to the vehicle architecture including Lithium-ion
(Li-ion) batteries, inverters and DC (Direct Current)
converters. Their impact on connector design
results in handling operating voltages that range
from 400V up to 750V and carrying currents as
high as 400A.
